On February 25, 2011, I interviewed Pepper Peete with The First Tee of Jacksonville.  

Pepper grew up in Denver. Colorado, but has lived in Jacksonville for 19 years. She developed a love of golf from her father. While at Edward Waters College she helped to develop the golf team and served as their Head Coach for 7 years. 

While looking for a place to practice, she came upon the First Tee. It was then, that she was approached by The First Tee in regards to whether she was interested in being their Program Director. For a period of time, Pepper worked at BOTH the college, and The First Tee. She became the Executive Director in 2005. 

Pepper is married to professional golfer, Calvin Peete. They have two daughters who also love playing golf.  

The First Tee is a beautifully maintained golf course, as you will see in the video. We appreciate the tour we were given, and hope to see other members of the Northside Business Leaders on the golf course too. You might even see me driving the golf cart again, who knows! Thank you, Pepper! We enjoyed it.
