Ms. Senior Pageant Jacksonville
Nancy Burnett Now for some good news: Many of you already know this, but our own Nancy Burnett, yes, our Secretary/Treasurer, is running for the title Ms. Senior Jacksonville. And you really thought the old girl was ready to put out to pasture. At times she does feel older than dirt! What a surprise!! The pageant will be June 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts. If Nancy wins, she would be eligible to compete in the Ms. Senior Florida pageant. It is an exciting time for Nancy and her husband Steve. Steve is feeling great about escorting a beauty pageant contestant (his head is a bit swelled), but he has promised to get those taxes out of the way so he can be home for the big event. Nothing can stop him or get in the way. Nancy’s platform is her work with the children through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. She has received more blessings than she can count by being a part of these children’s lives and giving them her love and warm spirit. This year she is working as a Community Ambassador to recruit 200 male mentors. God blesses her every day when she walks into a school class room and gets all the smiles and hugs from these precious children. Nothing comes free today, so she may be asking you for sponsorships or donations to reach her $400 goal. Donations or sponsorships can be in any denomination from $5.00 to $100.00 and ads can be purchased for recognition during this event. It will be a lot more fun including all of her friends and family in this exciting event. Let her know you support her.
