Max Leggett
Paul Forte, Max Leggett, Nancy Burnett & Steve Burnett A visit with Max Leggett & Family On
Sunday, August 23, 2009, Paul Forte, President, Steve Burnett, Past
President, and Nancy Burnett Secretary/Treasurer, visited the home of Max
and Elizabeth Leggett to present Max with a special Award from the Northside
Business Leaders for his many years of unselfish service to the Northside.
As you know, Max served valiantly as a firefighter, was a very
successful businessman in Jacksonville, and served the Northside superbly as
a City Councilman. The
presentation was made with Max’s family members in attendance, which made
the occasion even more special to Max.
This event will certainly remain in the hearts of the Club members in
attendance. Max Leggett has really given his all to North Jacksonville, while so many of us are just barely scraping the surface. Max is very weak but his continues his courageous battle with cancer. Keep Max and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he strives to become stronger to enable him to continue his work. Max’s family briefly told us of a future plan to use a portion of their property for a ranch to teach under privileged children responsibilities of farm living and the skills it entails. Max’s children learned at an early age how to be responsible individuals and to work hard. Nancy |
